The TM-DRAG Series are available in versions that are designed to work with ignition systems and engine controllers that have a provision for controlling the timing with a 12 volt input "Step Retards", as well as ignitions that can use a 0-5v signal to control timing via "Boost Retard".  Most popular digital ignitions and timing controllers have this feature, as well as many older analog type systems. 

Nitrous Express has also designed their new Maximizer 3 Progressive Controller to connect directly to our Traction Control systems for easy integration.  This advanced Nitrous controller can actually reduce the amount of Nitrous/Fuel delivered to the engine to reduce horsepower when the Traction Control detects tire slip.

We are often asked  "How is this any different than the digital ignition controller I already have?" or "Why don't I just buy  a digital ignition with timing control?".  One major advantage our systems have over other systems that control the ignition timing to reduce tire slip is that our systems are active, real time systems.  This means that instead of having to make many test runs to determine what the timing map should be (under the current conditions), our systems constantly monitor the acceleration rates and tire slip to determine the optimum  timing automatically. The pre-determined maps are only good until the track changes, then the map may allow too little or too much timing.  Our Self Learning  drag systems update as fast as 200 times a second and only reduce ignition timing when wheel slip occurs.  This technology is patented and is the only system of its kind available today.

This system is not simply a few lines of code added to an existing fuel injection or ignition system, and called traction control. This system utilizes a patented method and multiple high speed processors to very accurately and effectively monitor rates of acceleration to determine wheel speed, and tire slip. In fact, Davis Technologies’ systems are at least 20 times faster than other systems which are integrated into the fuel injection system.

Our systems only job is Traction Control ! 

Our systems work in real time as each pass is made, reacting to what the tires are doing under the current conditions, not simply running on a pre determined map based on old data. With our systems the tire slip is controlled based on the conditions as you go down the track, not the conditions when you were in the pit programming the map to what you thought the conditions might be!   

 

While some of Davis Technologies products are not allowed for use in a small number of classes, they are still beneficial in use for testing. One big advantage our testers have reported is the ability to get a full pass even with a missed setup.  This allows the racers to review the data from the run and better determine where the setup needs tweaking. It is very difficult to get your car dialed in when the tires go up in smoke 60 feet out!  Just one full pass early in the event can mean the difference in getting your setup right or heading to the trailer. Also, imagine being able to test parameters on your vehicle and not have to worry about chasing the changing track conditions.
