The TC3 is our entry-level Traction Control system which can be upgraded with additional features by unlocking the software. This is a great way for a racer to incrementally add traction control capabilities at a slower, more budget-friendly speed.
The base unit is a Non Self-Learning Traction Control System that monitors the drive shaft speed and reacts to any sudden increase/spikes in that speed and uses timing retard (only) to reduce power. The user can manually adjust the threshold of over acceleration which will cause a correction. This is great for racers looking for a little help on the gear change, or when a stage of nitrous or boost comes in, or just want more consistency and lower Elapsed Times. It’s also simple to set up, there’s no drive shaft curve, no dots, and it’s a simple system.

If you add on the Self Learning feature, the software can watch driveshaft speed in real-time, adjusting the threshold settings on the fly which is a great option for tuneability. It can monitor the drive shaft RPM, monitor the average rate of change, and respond when it detects an excessive rate of change. It can do this regardless of what gear the car is in, or say a change in the car such as a gear change, boost, or nitrous change which may make the car quicker or slower to accelerate. The Self-Learn will adapt to the new current drive shaft rates and automatically adapt to it.

Self-Learning is fast, it can make changes every driveshaft revolution. The more pulses per driveshaft revolution, the quicker it can detect changes. That’s why we recommend a 32-tooth driveshaft sensor & ring to improve response times.
SL-Pro Upgrade with Smart Drop
The Pro Upgrade gets you both the Self-Learning ability, plus the ability to use zones where you can adjust where during the run you allow what changes to take place. For example, you may have a launch zone from .02s to .80s where you allow it to take out 10 degrees of timing for corrections if necessary, and another zone, say 2.2s to 4.5s where you only want it to take out a couple of degrees if Traction Control is triggered. These zones allow even more tunability for the system to apply power corrections of the amount you want, when you want them.
The SL-Pro also adds the ability to have a timing curve programmed into the unit. You can use it to reduce timing where you want it on the track, such as at launch, at shift points, or perhaps a troublesome area on the track where you need to reduce power.
SmartDrop® adds the ability to actually cut cylinders out of the firing order in a safe and effective way. This is a heavy correction that is used when timing retard isn’t catching the tire and we have to get more serious about pulling power.
